THE PHANTOM: FURY
(Frew Publications)
"It has been said that "the female of the species is more deadly than the male". Julie was proving it." - Lee Falk, The Story of The Phantom, 1972.
1914: the world is on the brink of the Great War. Julie Walker, the twin-sister of the long dead 17th Phantom finds herself far from the Deep Woods, hunting pirate members of the Singh Brotherhood from sea to land, wherever they hide. This gang of cutthroats were responsible for the deaths of her father, her brother and her nephew, all successors among a long line of Phantoms.
No longer content with living out the rest of her years quietly as a doctor in the jungles of Bangalla, we find an older but still dangerous Julie in the Australian outback, confronting a gang of outlaws harbouring a high-ranking Singh brotherhood member, up to nefarious schemes. But can the older Julie Walker still hold her own as she once did long ago?
The 3 part story is written and assistant edits by Amanda Bacchi (editor of FLOCK, assistant editor on The Phantom: Vietnam) as well as co-writer Paul Mason, with script and art by Paul, edited by Glenn Ford and published by Dudley Hogarth.
Part one was available on newsstands and in participating comic stores around Australian and NZ in mid - June 2023, and now available direct from Frew Publications, with part 2 and 3 to be published in later issues.
